March 2007
Whitehorse says hi in a slightly more long term kind of way and that you wouldn't believe how not dark it is. You might've heard that W-horse hosted the Canada Winter Games and that it was a great big diesel cloud for about two and a half weeks. But jeez did local musicians get great big pay.
New MP3s.
Current musical plans mostly revolve around this banjo wielding Kim Barlow and her activities. The record we started in June is now out in the world and doing a variety of different things. Check out Kim's myspace or fancy new website for tour dates and all kinds of things in relation to that.
late June 2006
Whitehorse says hi. The daylight and mosquitoes are getting to
be a bit much. I'm helping one of Canada's most excellent singer-songwriters,
Kim Barlow record her next album. It looks like
this record is going to deal with horses, death, love, outer space
and other timeless themes. I'll be in comox playing with Kim July
6th - 8th.
There was a lovely show a little while ago - Thursday, June 8th
-Christine Fellows and Shary Boyle - that I was engorged with joy to
be part of. Shary has created and improvises amazingly textured
and evocative drawings for each song that are projected behind the
band. Almost as exciting as watching Edmontonians shouting at the
TV in the airport during game 4. I will likely explode with glee
to be touring the same great show in July:
July 9 - Winnipeg Folk Fest
July 15 - Kamloops - Music in the Park
July 16 - Victoria - Logan's
July 17 - Vancouver - RIME
July 19 - Ashcroft - Ashcroft Opera House
July 21 - 23 - Dawson City - Dawson City Music Festival
July 24 - Dawson CIty - Bombay Peggy's
July 25 - Haines Junction - St. Elias Convention Centre
July 26 - Whitehorse - Paddy's Place
July 28 - Toronto - Harbourfront Centre
July 29 - 30 - Guelph - Hillside Festival
August 5 - Summerland - Summerland Festival
Later in August I'll be at the bulkley valley guitar workshop and smithers younger guitar camp.
So that's all I've got for now. Wish it was more but nothing's
ever good enough for you. Next you'll be telling me to get a myspace.
Forget it.

October 2005
Hello from Winnipeg! Hello to Winnipeg!
Winnipeg isn't actually the coldest place on earth. In fact as
this is being written, several cities in Canada and elsewhere are
colder. And more dangerous. And more isolated. And in grander states
of disrepair and economic crisis. In short, I love Winnipeg, and
all of you who don't, had better just settle down.
